FIREFIGHTER / PARAMEDIC
The City of Waukegan in cooperation with the Waukegan Civil Service Commission conducted an examination to establish an eligibility list for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic.

General Requirements:
Be a United States Citizen
Possess a High School diploma or equivalent.
Possess a valid driver’s license.
Be at least 21 years of age, but not over the age of 35, on or before the date of the written exam.
Be physically capable of fully performing the duties of a Firefighter/Paramedic.
Note: The Waukegan Civil Service Commission has established that applicants who have previous training and hold current certifications/licensure in the following areas will receive additional point credit during the examination process:
EMT-Basic and State of Illinois or State of Wisconsin Firefighter II or III
EMT-Paramedic (current Provisional status) with course completion certificate
EMT-Paramedic Licensure
General Information:
Current Starting Salary: Firefighter Recruit - $43,288. Recruit with Paramedic Licensure - $46,335
