Fee schedule

Required New Fees, Effective August 21, 2003

LICENSEfees for the licenses required by Section 9-127 for the following activities shall be as follows, respectively:

(1) Flammable liquid tanks $200.00
(2) Fire alarms systems $200.00
(3) Fire sprinkler systems $200.00
(4) Fire department standpipes $150.00
(5) Fire Pumps $200.00
(6) Liquefied petroleum tanks $200.00
(7) Fire extinguishers $200.00
(8) Extinguishing systems $125.00

Fee for the work ­PERMITS required by Section 9-131 shall be as follows, respectively:

(1) Automatic Sprinkler.  The fee for the sprinkler permit shall be based on the number of sprinkler heads in the system.

For hydraulically designed systems, multiply above fee by 1.5.  Standpipes using the same supply as the automatic sprinklers are included in the fee.

(2) Carbon Dioxide Suppression System.  Preengineered system $100.00 per system; engineered system, 1 to 75 pounds of agent $100.00; over 75 pounds of agent, $100.00 plus $0.50 per pound.

(3) Halon suppression system.  Up to 35 pounds of agent, $125.00; over 35 pounds, $125.00 plus $7.00 per pound.

(4) Wet or dry chemical suppression system.  Up to 30 pounds of agent, $125.00; over 30 pounds, $125.00 plus $3.00 per pound.

(5) Fire detection system (Fire Alarm)  $200.00

(6) Fire protection systems and/or devices (Fire Alarm).  Servicing, repair or alterations of, $100.00

(7) Flammable/combustible liquid tanks.  Installatin, $75.00 per tank.

(8) Flammable/combustible liquid tanks.  Removal, $75.00 per tank

(9) Liquefied petroleum tanks.  Installation, $100.00 per tank.

The BOCA National Fire Prevention Code, 1990 Edition, heretofore adopted by reference is hereby amended in the following respects:

Sec. F-106.2   Permits required, is amended to read:

            “Sec. F-106.2.     Permit required before commencing construction or work.  No person, firm or corporation shall commence any construction of any type for which a permit, under the provisions of this code, is required before first securing and having been issue a permit by the Fire Prevention Bureau of the City of Waukegan, Illinois.”

Sec. F-106.7.   Payment of fees is amended to read:

            “Sec. F-106.7.    Fee schedule.  The following fees shall be due and payable prior to the issuance of any permit under the provisions of any of the following articles of this code.:
